To keep Roblox safe and fair for everyone, we proactively check profile avatars for content that may break our rules. If your avatar configuration violates our Community Standards, it will be automatically reset to a default look.
What Happens When an Avatar is Reset?
If our system detects an avatar violation, the following will occur:
Default Look: Your avatar will be reverted to a default appearance.
Notification: You will receive an in-app message (on the Roblox app or website) explaining that your avatar was reset.
What You Can Do
Read the Notification: Check your Roblox messages to understand why the reset happened.
-
Update Your Look: You can immediately go to the Avatar Editor to re-equip items and customize your avatar again.
Be sure to review the Community Standards carefully. If you re-create an avatar that breaks the rules again, it may be reset a second time, and further action could be taken against your account.
Report a Mistake: If the notification message includes a "Report mistake" option, you can use it to send feedback directly to us if you believe the reset was an error.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I tell Roblox there was a mistake?
Please look for the "Report mistake" link or button within the notification message you received. This is the specific channel for providing feedback on these automated resets.
Can Roblox Customer Support review my case?
No. Roblox Customer Support does not manually review decisions made regarding avatar safety resets. Please use the "Report mistake" option mentioned above.
Can Roblox Customer Support provide a refund?
Refunds are not provided for avatar resets. In most cases, you still own the individual items; you simply cannot wear them in that specific combination or configuration.
