Managing who can join your Community is an important aspect of maintaining safe and civil spaces for your friends, followers, and collaborators. In order to satisfy the needs of a broad range of Community types, Roblox Communities support a handful of Join Requirements that owners can configure.
Community owners and members with appropriate permissions can adjust the Join Requirements settings. To manage your Join Requirements, press the Overflow icon (⋯) on your Community page and select Configure Community > Settings.
Manual Approval
Enabling Manual Approval requires users to request to join your community. When the user presses Join Community, their request is submitted to the Community owner. Owners can review join requests by navigating to Configure Community > Members > Requests.
Disabling Manual Approval while the community has open join requests will automatically accept pending joins.
Verification Level
Verification Level allows Community owners to configure additional requirements before joining or requesting to join a community. Verification Level can be set to one of four options:
- None (default) – Users do not require account verification before joining.
- Low – Users must be phone, email, or ID verified before joining.
- Medium – Users must be ID verified, or phone and email verified before joining.
- High – Users must be ID verified before joining.
Verification Level only affects users who are not yet members of a Community. Changing a Community's Verification Level will not impact current members who do not meet the Verification Level requirements.
Users who do not meet a Community’s Verification Level requirements will be prompted to verify their accounts when they press the Join Community button.
