Eligible 13+ users must be age checked to use Voice Chat with users of similar age groups in any Roblox experience that supports it. Voice Chat is not enabled by default.
Voice Chat features may not be available in certain regions. Verification methods, such as ID Verification and Facial Age Estimation, may also not be available to all accounts.
Turn Voice Chat on or off
To turn on Voice Chat for the first time, you need to be at least 13 years old, and you must first verify your ID, or complete Facial Age Estimation. After completing an age check, you can turn on Voice Chat in experience settings or by clicking the headphone icon in any Roblox experience that supports it.
Users who are 13+ or older in supported regions will gain access to Voice Controls within experiences that support Voice Chat. You can manage connection status by clicking on the headphone icon to connect to Voice.
Note: Phone verification is not a valid method to gain access to Voice Chat following these updates.
If you are on Playstation, you can connect to Voice within in-experience settings.
You can also connect and disconnect from Voice by going to in-experience settings and using the Voice Chat toggle.
You can also mute and unmute your microphone on your device or within the experience.
Once Voice Chat is enabled, you can use the feature in any experience that supports it. For more information, see our Voice FAQ help article.
If you do not see the join voice icon within games or experiences after completing ID verification, or Facial Age Estimation, the feature may not be available in your region.
Respect the Community
13+ users are encouraged to enjoy this exciting way to communicate on Roblox, but they must also continue to adhere to the Terms of Use and Community Standards as they would within any Roblox experience. Users that violate these rules may be suspended or removed from Voice Chat and have further moderation actions taken against their Roblox account.
