Roblox cannot enforce deals made outside our official features. If you make a deal outside these features and the other player breaks it, Roblox cannot return your items or Robux.

The only safe ways to swap items or Robux
- The Trade feature (swap Limited items with another player).
- The Sell features (on clothing, game passes, and developer products).
Treat every other method as unsafe.
Deals to avoid
These are common ways scammers take items or Robux. Do not:
- Use trades or sales to pay for accounts, real world money, or groups.
- Lend out your account or items, or let someone "borrow" them.
- Agree to any deal where one person has to go first and "trust" the other.
- Give your account or item to someone else to sell or trade for you.
A simple rule: If a trade feels like a bad idea, it probably is. Do not do it.
Automated safeguards that help you trade safely
Roblox has built-in safeguards that work in the background to keep trading fairer and cut down on scams. The main one you can use is the Trade Quality Filter.
The Trade Quality Filter automatically checks incoming trade offers and flags ones that look unfair or one-sided — for example, an offer that asks for a valuable item in return for something worth far less. Low-quality offers like these are hidden from your inbox so you don't have to sort through them, which makes obvious scam attempts much easier to avoid.
You can set the filter in Account Settings > Privacy & content restrictions > Trading & inventory. Choose Low, Medium, or High to set your minimum quality, or None to receive all offers. You can change it at any time. Setting a level is a simple way for new traders to avoid unfair trades.
Even with these safeguards, no filter can catch every bad deal. Deals made outside the official Trade and Sell features are never protected — so the safest habit is to keep every trade inside Roblox's official features.
What to do if you see a scam
Use the Report Abuse buttons found across the site to report anyone who is scamming. Reporting is the best way to help stop it from happening again.
